SPAN Announces Weekend Project Contest
(Atlanta, GA) - SPAN: the Southern Pine Awareness Network recently announced a project contest for do-it-yourselfers: homeowners are encouraged to dust off their tools, strap on their creative thinking caps and submit plans for a weekend project using only Southern Pine wood.
The contest runs from April 1, 2005, through July 15, 2005. All entries will be judged by a panel of industry experts with five winners receiving a $500 cash prize each. Plus, all winning projects will be featured in a Weekend Project brochure to be published in the early fall by SPAN and offered free via the SPAN Web site. Entrants may choose fasteners, paint, dcor or theme of their choosing, but only Southern Pine wood may be used in the project.
Contest entries should be creative backyard projects that can be completed in one weekend. Submissions could include - but are not limited to! - dog houses, playhouses, small playsets, planter boxes, decorative items and more.
Complete rules and entry forms for the Project Contest can be found at http://www.spanpine.com/contest.shtml.
